Gov. Mary Fallin will be in Lawton Thursday to announce her bid for re-election and to attend a campaign kickoff fundraiser.

Fallin became Oklahoma's first female governor in 2011 after winning the general election in November 2010. She serves as chair of the National Governors Association.

Fallin made her first foray into public service in 1990 when she was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

In 1994 Fallin became the first woman and first Republican to be elected lieutenant governor.
