In Congress, submitted friend of the court briefs to the Supreme Court in both the Heller and McDonald cases, stating that the Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental, individual right that protects all Americans. -- Opposed re-enacting the Clinton semi-auto ban. -- Voted to protect access to federally-owned or administered lands for hunting, fishing, trapping and recreational shooting. -- Supports S. 1908, the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2014 (co-sponsored by U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe) and H.R. 2959, the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act (co-sponsored by U.S. Representative Tom Cole). These bills would enable citizens who have concealed carry permits to carry across state lines instead of making separate applications in all the states they might travel to.
