Edmond chamber plans first women's conference

The Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural Women’s Leadership Conference is from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 13 in the University of Central Oklahoma’s Nigh University Center.
Keynote speaker will be Cindi Broaddus, the sister-in-law of TV host Phil McGraw and author of "A Random Act.” She will discuss her life journey and the assault that changed her forever.
The cost in advance is $50 for whole day or $30 for lunch only. It increases by $10 after Nov. 10. All attendees will receive a copy of Broaddus’ book.
The opening session will feature U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin, R-Oklahoma City, Terry Neese and Edmond Mayor Patrice Douglas
Workshops include:
- "Life WILL Happen ... Laughter WILL Help” by Lori Engel with Ultimate HR.
- "Pursue Your Passions” by Erin Brewer, with United Way and RedPin.
- "He Said, She Said ... Communicating Past Gender Differences” with panel members Dusty Boren of 4 Corners Custom Homes, Tim Deimund of MidFirst Bank and Carl Hancuff of Edmond Life and Leisure, moderated by Britten Follett of Fox 25 News.
- "Why Isn’t Everyone Like Me? Valuing Age and Personality Differences” by Jennifer Howard of Positive Business Solutions.
