Today marks the beginning of Oklahoma's annual Sales Tax Holiday. It's a weekend long event designed to help parents purchase back-to-school clothing by temporarily eliminating the state sales tax on clothing purchases under $100. We know the average family spends almost $700 on back to school expenses, and Oklahomans saved over $7.3 million on last year's Tax Holiday alone.

This kind of tax relief is a win-win situation for Oklahoma families, businesses and the state economy. I strongly support the Sales Tax Holiday, and as governor, I’ll work to protect it. My opponent, on the other hand, won’t. Joe Dorman voted against the sales tax holiday -- three times.

I’m wishing you a great weekend, and another great Sales Tax Holiday. You’ve earned it.
