Health care reform continues being a hot topic

Health Care reform is a heated topic across the country right now. Congresswoman Mary Fallin spoke to many Oklahomans Thursday evening in a town hall meeting about a proposed plan to change our current health care situation. Standing room only, most that came out were in support of Fallin, but there were a few who silently protested, others who are unsure and those with strong opinions.
If you want to try to read it good luck. I'm working on it," Fallin said.
A plan that is more than one-thousand pages long, even lawmakers admit they have not completely read.
"You think it's complicated now with bureaucratic red tape just wait until the federal government gets their hands on your health care. You won't like it. That's why people from Canada come to the United States to get our health care," she said.
Something many people agree with - citing other countries with nationalized health coverage.
"They come here for health care, because it's not working there," Teri Hulcome said. "Why are we the United States of America the best country on Earth even attempting this?"
"You could go with an independent insurance company and be guaranteed immediate healthcare instead of waiting six months for surgery," Fallin supporter Teri Breecher said.
While Fallin is against this model for our country she admitted our current situation still needs help.
"There is no doubt that our nation needs to reform our health care system," she said. "It's costs too much. People don't have access like they should have access."
With the exception of cost, some were in support of the proposed plan claiming making adjustments to what we already have would be best.
"If it's not broken why fix it?"
