OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Gov. Mary Fallin is planning a tour of Altus Air Force Base in southwest Oklahoma.

Fallin plans to tour the base on Thursday before delivering the keynote address later that evening at the Altus Chamber of Commerce banquet.

One of three Air Force bases in Oklahoma, Altus Air Force base employs nearly 4,000 airmen and civilians and is home to the 97th Air Mobility Wing. The base trains crews on two main aircraft — the KC-135 Stratotanker, a refueling aircraft, and the C-17 Globemaster III, a large cargo plane.

Fallin is expected to receive a briefing from base leaders on its future missions and its relationship with the community. She also is expected to tour a C-17 simulator that is used in training.
